Scoreboard Storage and Operation

Use this page to set up, run, and put away scoreboards at OPS and River Dell Middle School.

OPS Scoreboard – Storage and Operation

Location / Storage
  • The score controller is stored in the grey wall box next to the scorers table
  • The controller is in a black protective bag
  • At the end of each day, it must be placed back in the bag and stored in the grey box at the end of each day
  • A backup table top scoreboard will be in the MPR closet, and you can ask the custodian for access if needed
Turning On
  1. Turn on the electric breaker #5. MUST TURN THIS OFF WHEN FINISHED WITH GAMES
  2. Plug in All Cords and Power On – cable out from controller goes into cable port under grey box
Setting Clock
  1. Stop Clock and Press Set Clock
  2. Use Up/Down Arrow to select 8 or 10 min and press Enter
  3. Or Use Up/Down Arrow to select “Ent Game Time” and press Enter
  4. Enter custom time and press Enter
Key Buttons
  • Clock: Start / Stop
  • Home or Guest Score: +1, +2, +3 OR -1 to remove score
  • Period: located on bottom right side
  • Horn: top right
  • Poss.: if you are keeping the possession arrow
Cleanup Process
  1. Circuit breaker #5 MUST be turned off
  2. Place the scoreboard in the black protective bag
  3. Store the bag in the grey wall box next to the scorers table

MS and HS Scoreboard – Storage and Operation

Location / Storage
  • Spectrum scoreboard controller is located in the weight room in the corner of the gym at the MS and in the supply closet at the HS
  • Backup tabletop scoreboards are located in the same locations
Turning On and Starting Game
  1. Plug into the wall outlet behind the score table.
  2. Press Function
  3. Select 1
  4. Press “Enter”
Restart after Disconnection
  1. Restarting remembers the score and time
  2. Power the scoreboard back on
  3. Press “Function
  4. Select 2
  5. Press “Enter”
Setting Clock to Specific Time
  1. Flip the “clock switch” off so the time is not running
  2. Enter time (enter 800 for 8 minutes)
  3. Press the “Clock Set” button (red button located at the top left of the keypad)
Start / Stop Clock
  • Flip the clock switch to the on or off position
Set Count Direction of Clock Up or Down
  1. Press “Clock Up/Down” button to toggle which direction the clock runs
  2. It should default to down
  3. Use “Clock Up” to add seconds back to the clock
  4. REMEMBER to switch it back down when ready to play
Change the Period / Quarter
  • Press “Period / Quarter” to increment the quarter
Set the Auto Horn
  • When auto horn is turned on, it will sound at the end of a qaurter
  • A red indicator light means “Auto Horn” in turned on
  • Press “Auto Horn” to turn it on or off
Sound the Horn for Subs
  • Press “Horn / Sub” when the clock is turned off to sound the horn for a substitution
Scoring
  • Press Home Score or Visiter Score to increment by 1
Reset a Score
  1. Press “Reset”
  2. Press “Home Score” or “Visitor Score” to blank out their score
Clean up Process
  • This scoreboard controller should be returned to the MS weight room after the final game of the day
  • Please locate the custodian to unlock the door and put away
